Philomath is thrilled to launch our Visionary Grant, a funding opportunity created for individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCIs) who are ready to start a business or are currently in the early startup phase.
Whether you're developing a new idea, building the foundation, or navigating the first steps of launching, this grant is designed to help you gain momentum and move forward with clarity and confidence.
🔹 Who It’s For:
This grant supports SCI individuals who are not yet operating an established business but are actively exploring or developing a new venture.
🔹 Award Amount:
Up to $1,000 in startup capital
🔹 How to Apply:
Submit your application along with a detailed budget that shows how this funding will support your business goals—such as materials, equipment, licenses, or branding essentials.
What to Include in Your Application:
We want to hear how this grant can help you overcome early-stage barriers and build something meaningful. Consider these questions:
What kind of business are you looking to start—and what inspired it?
Where are you currently in the process (idea, development, testing)?
What resources or support do you need to take the next step?
What challenges has your injury presented in launching your business?
How will this grant help you make real progress toward income or impact?
Applicant Requirements:
Must be a person with a spinal cord injury
Must be a California resident, 18 years or older
Must demonstrate financial need and provide proof of income
Must consent to Philomath sharing your story and/or likeness in communications related to the Visionary Grant
